LEVI’S WISH

The story

Levi Davenport was born with cystic fibrosis. Most days, the ocean is his medicine. He lives near the water and surfs to keep his lungs strong, turning a lifelong condition into a reason to move, breathe, and push. But Levi's wish pointed in a different direction. Not toward the waves, but toward the track. He wanted to race. So Make-A-Wish put him behind the wheel of a BMW on a high-performance circuit, and we were there to capture every second of it. The nerves in the paddock. The helmet snapping shut. The first time the engine opened up and the world blurred at the edges. For a kid who spends so much of his life managing what his body can and cannot do, this was a day with no limits at all.

What we made

Vertero produced a cinematic, documentary-style short following Levi from the shoreline to the starting line. We wanted the film to feel the way the day felt: intimate, unhurried, and alive. No script could match what actually happened when Levi hit the redline for the first time, so we let the moment lead and built the story around it. The result is a piece that does more than record a wish. It shows why these wishes matter, and what it looks like when a kid gets to be fully, joyfully himself.

Why it mattered to us

Work like this is why we do what we do. Partnering with Make-A-Wish let us point our cameras at something that outlasts any campaign: a real kid, a real family, and a day none of them will forget. We are proud to have told Levi's story, and grateful he let us ride along.
